Gas Detection Alarm & Control System
Detcon Models 880-N1 and 880-N1S
are PLC based high density gas detection control and
alarm systems. The design is useful in applications
requiring 20 to 80 field devices. Two standard packages
are available. When specified and configured for 4-20
milliamp input from field devices system capacity is
up to 40 sensors. Using serial RS-485 Modbus™
system capacity is increased to 80 field devices. The
system can be programmed for any combination of gas
detection functions including a wide range of toxic
gases, combustible gas and oxygen deficiency. The system
features an EZ touch color screen that is programmed
with three standard user interface screens. The main
screen is divided into 10 or 20 four-channel zones depending
on the number and type of field devices. In normal operation
and in a no alarm condition the color background for
each zone is green (safe). Each zone is site specific
labeled in accordance with information provided by the
user. A color change to red (danger) in a specific zone
indicates an alarm condition. The touch screen is used
to select an individual zone screen which displays the
current reading and alarm status of up to four field
devices. The third standard screen is used to display
alarm history. An optional 3.5" floppy drive can
be added to expand the data logging capacity for high
density installations. The system requires power input
of 110 or 220 VAC and or 24 VDC.
